About

«I draw inspiration from everything I see, be it a landscape, architecture, a fashion show, pages of a magazine or a store window, and encourage the viewer not to guess «what the artist wanted to say», but to search for their own meanings and emotional connections. I invite you to co-author a story to experience the liberating power of self-expression, because art is just a space for conversation, and we are free to choose what we surround ourselves with» Vikki Miva

Vikki Miva’s work uses the simplest of means to reflect the endless diversity of life and emotion.

Miva’s choices of abstraction over figurative expression, draws from her own way of interacting with both the world and her inner self. Her use of visual simplicity appeals directly to our senses, and abandons traditional principles of realism.

Showcasing emotion in its raw form, she conveys a complex picture of life around us, building geometric harmony of shapes, shades and colours, fearlessly discarding unnecessary details. The viewer is left with raw interpretation.

While working in the depths of black and dark shades, her aim is not to reduce works to a monochromatic symbol. On the contrary, in her works there is always a place for bright, life-affirming color accents — that seem to be designed to remind the viewers of the joy that the act of creativity gives the artist and which she wants to share. Looking at her paintings, you understand that strength is in restraint, and less is more.
